COVID-19 Symptoms & Response

Please note that many symptoms of the coronavirus COVID-19 bear similarities to seasonal influenza. 

COVID-19 testing is now available and strongly advised for any Albertan exhibiting any of the following symptoms:

  • Fever*

  • Cough (new cough or worsening chronic cough)*

  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing (new or worsening)*

  • Runny nose*

  • Stuffy nose

  • Sore throat*

  • Painful swallowing

  • Headache

  • Chills

  • Muscle or joint aches

  • Feeling unwell in general, or new fatigue or severe exhaustion

  • Gastrointestinal symptoms (nausea, vomiting, diarrhea or unexplained loss of appetite)

  • Loss of sense of smell or taste

  • Conjunctivitis, commonly known as pink eye

*IF you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath, a runny nose or sore throat, you are now legally required to self isolate for 10 days from either the start of your symptoms, or until they have cleared. Please contact Alberta Health Link (call 811) if this is the case.
