Mexico Mission Trip 2026

Thursday: Key Ceremony Day
It's all come down to this moment: the final build day. The opportunity to bless a family with a house - now a home. The morning brought grey skies, however the rain stayed at bay until the final moment once the keys had been handed over, the families had their new home, and we were all returning back to the base knowing that God had opened hearts and blessed us all. Much of the day consisted of finishing shingling the roof, adding baseboards, touching up paint, cleaning up t

Wednesday
While the day started out with rain, once again we were blessed with sunshine soon afterwards as our teams delved into the second day of the build. Today, I had to stay back on base, however our team leaders were amazing about making sure to capture the kids in action! There were lots of excited comments at the end of the day about the experience (yes, the roof was very popular). After dinner, it was time to clean the rooms before chapel. We are now in the Onion for chapel, a

And Finally...
There are many, and it's been a bit of a challenge to sort, but by the time I get back I will be able to do so more effectively. In the meantime, here's a taste of what I've managed to upload...

Tuesday - Build Day One
The day that was supposed to be filled with rain was filled with sunshine and rainbows (literally). After a hearty breakfast, we made our way to the Onion to play a fun cup game, sing some worship songs, and then head out to our work sites on the bus. With the sun shining on each of the sites, we got to work. The Green and Orange Team’s builds were a shorter distance from the base, while the Purple Team was the furthest distance. For many of our students, it was their first t

Monday
The excitement is definitely building (just before the ACTUAL build) here in Tijuana. You could tell based on the energy of the students this morning as we met in the Onion after breakfast and got started with a rousing rendition of Captain's Coming (there are some video clips below). The sun was peeking out, despite a call for rain, and three of the five teams headed out to minister to the community. The Blue Team made their way to help in the initial stages of building a co

Sunday
This morning, everyone was up and ready, dressed in their best for a day of worship at five different churches. It was an opportunity to experience spiritual culture in an entirely different environment. For a few, the churches were actually outdoors. Some of our students were prepared to give testimonies; some of our groups were ready to perform their skits for the congregation. In all cases, everyone was prepared to connect with God on a beautiful, sunny day in Mexico. Befo

Saturday
What a gorgeous day! We were so blessed with sunshine and warmth today - perfect for the afternoon activities. Everyone was in good spirits from a good night’s sleep. After a delicious breakfast of scrambled eggs, bacon, pancakes, yogurt and fresh fruit and yogurt, the morning activities began in the Onion (the sprung structure where we have chapels, games and more). We began with quiet worship, then reflection time with our muster groups. After a quick break, and a very fun

Day One
Even after an early start, our students showed enthusiasm and excitement over the adventure to come. We were met with lots of lovely comments from strangers in the airport all sharing their support and wonder about what we were heading out to do. The flight was a bit bumpy, but didn't hamper the mood. We arrived to beautiful, warm weather in San Diego earlier than expected, and headed straight to Chik-fil-A and In-n-Out Burger. I've learned we have LOTS of burger enthusiasts,

And so we prepare...
The Spirit of the Lord is on us! We are approaching the moment where we have the opportunity to go and serve through love in Mexico. The students are excited and ready to work. For many of them, this has been something they have been learning about since their years in Elementary. Our prayer support from our designated prayer classrooms has been such a gift. We have been waiting to hear about the final two families we will be building for, and have just updated the previous b
